OPENING PRAYER

We come today to seek a relationship with our God.

Make us worthy of that relationship.

We come today seeking understanding in a complex world.

Open our minds to your truth that we may understand.

We come today seeking God`s compassion in our struggles and failures.

Hold us in your embrace that we may know and accept your grace and forgiveness.

We pray in the name of Jesus, the Christ, who taught his friends to pray saying……

PRAYER FOR AND ASSURANCE OF GRACE

God, this world tests our abilities and challenges our commitments.

Strengthen and support us in our efforts.

We know that we sometimes are blissfully unaware of what you expect of us or being aware, fall short in our attempts to do what we see is needed.

Forgive us for our willful blindness and through your grace grant us the ability to be your light to the world.

We know that God works with us and through us to bring about a new world.  We are children of God`s grace freely given and never withheld.  Rest in the assurance that the Creator`s love knows no bounds and is ours forever.

Thanks be to God.  Amen.

COMMISSIONING:

As we come to the end of our worship to day….

Let us go into the world with an open and tolerant heart.

As we enter into the week ahead…..

Let us go out, confident in assurance of God’s grace and love

As we live our lives today and in the days to come……

Let us do so as a beacon of the love of God made known to the world in Jesus Christ.

Amen.

Sung Benediction: “Until we meet again”   Lyrics by Ruth Duck

Until we meet again,

Walk gently in the way;

Dwell in the hollow of God’s hand.

Rejoice and sing, and pray!
